Welcome to

Leading Tickles

Newfoundland & Labrador

Tourism

We depend a lot on the tourism industry in the summer months. Our Oceanview Park contains 21 camp sites with 12 full-serviced RV lots and 9 tent sites that is bordered by 3 beautiful beaches that come alive in the summer months with people of all ages wanting to take in the view and have a little swim in the cool waters of the Atlantic Ocean. We have laundry facilities and a small snack bar if anyone is interested in a snack while in the park. There is also a trail that leads up to Bear Cove Head if you are interested in a nice hike and look out at the large area of open ocean that spreads out as far as the eye can see.

Council

Our town's mayor is Melissa Chippett  and the deputy mayor is Trudy Chippett. The councillor's for our town include Michael Chippett, Clayton Blundell, Leona Newman, Dexter Loveman, and Wendy Rowsell.

About Us

The Town of Leading Tickles has a population of 296 people. It is a fishing community on the North East Coast of Newfoundland. We have a fish plant that is run by Golden Shell Fisheries which employs many of our residents in the summer month’s. Our fishermen catch mainly cod, Snow crab, and lobster, with some mackerel, herring, squid and caplin when regulations permit. We have a little school that holds grades k-3, 2 churches, St. Nicholas Anglican and Abundant life Pentecostal.
